We here at AFSIVA embrace the idea of nurturing student wholeness: mind, body, and spirit. We are proud to parter with University of Maryland's School Mental Health Program to ensure our students has access to a variety of programs that promote and sustain their wellness and well-being.
Our Mission is to enhance the learning environment of the Baltimore City Public School System by removing the barriers to learning and actively promoting the social-emotional-behavioral well-being of students. The SMH Program staff is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment in which students and families are able to rapidly access a range of culturally-sensitive and effective prevention and therapeutic services that promote wellness and academic success using a person- and family-centered approach.
